Hi,
I am really sorry, that I post so rarely in English. I would actually like to know, if it's readable with Google Translate etc. A lot has happened during the past weeks. I have started to have more tests and quizzes. What has meant more studying. Last week-end I didn't do anything else than study for my First Chinese test. I was/am so proud of myself, since I got a 6 from the test. Take in consideration that our grading system is different than in Finland. The best grade is 7. This has caused some confusion with friends back home. I remembering saying that I would be happy if I got a 5 as my final grade from Chinese and my friend, who is in a normal high school back home, was shocked, that am I seriously that bad in the subject. In Finland we get graded on a scale from 4-10.
Swimming has become some kind of hobby for me. During the past week I have been to the pool four times and am going again today evening. I really enjoy it, partially because, when I'm swimming I don't think about anything related to school. Also the fact that we have a proper sauna here motivates me to go swimming. Sometimes the temperature is too low for a Finn, but I understand the people, who aren't brought up in a culture, where sauna plays a big part.
On Wednesday we had a Health Day. I was really waiting for it and had quite high expectations, which were not filled. We had a really good breakfast; porridge, pancakes, fruit, yogurt and freshly baked bread. After this we had a fitness session, lead by two second years. The idea of the fitness session was really nice, but I would have enjoyed it more, if there would have been more time between breakfast and the fitness. After this we had a Norwegian psychologist talking about mental health. I find the topic very important, especially here. The first few hours were okay, when we had to discuss some situations and what should we do in them, but after that the lecture was boring and I didn't really understand what were the points he was trying to tell to us.
Yesterday our Finno-Ugric group went for a hike/trip to Lavo, a tipi-like hut. The hike only took about 45 min. We had awesome food and time there. We slept in the hut in sleeping bags. It was otherwise really warm, but I slept next to the door and got some cold air to my neck and shoulders. We woke up at 7.30 a.m. and walked back to the college, so that we were here around 9 o'clock. I studied for sometime, went to brunch to eat the rice porridge, after what I slept for a couple of hours. I have been really lazy today and probably will be for the rest of the day. I'll try to go to bed at a decent time, because last night I only slept around 5 hours (that's little for me during the weekend).
In two weeks I'll leave campus for over a week. First I'll probably have a thing with my Chinese class in Bergen on Saturday, after what I'm probably staying a few days in Bergen and on Monday I'm leaving to Madrid, where I'll see my mom for the first time in over two months. I'll also get some clothes etc. what I forgot/ didn't realize to bring with me.
I haven't been taking photos for a while, but next time I'm posting I can show you again some moments from the college life.
